![[ Global Scans of First New Moon Sightings 2007-2008 ]](globalscans.gif)

The following information shows when and where the new moons will be visible. Compare these scans with the new moon information documents to verify the information. Please note that these dates are for the day on which the new moon is sighted. You must add one day to these dates for the Roman calendar date. For instance, the scan below shows that there is a good chance that the new moon will be sighted throughout the USA on the evening of March 19, 2007. The calendar date for the new moon day would be March 20.
The age of the new moon is measured from the time when the astronomical conjunction takes place. The astronomical new moon (which we call the conjunction) should not be confused with the scriptural new moon which is the first visible crescent of light that is seen after the conjunction takes place.
The following color key should be used to translate the various colors into the age of the moon.
It should be noted that it is extremely difficult to see a visible new moon with the naked eye when it is less than 20 hours old.
